Question: Update IIS 6 Certifcates with SHA-2
Had issues updating my Cert with SHA-2?
Used the following process to eliminate the issue,
Windows update Failed for unknown reason,
1) attempt deleting the following folder, and retry windows update,C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution (Make sure to have a backup)
Hope this will help someone,
(if all fails then download the appropriate patch for your server and install)

That's interesting. One of the criticisms of the current x509 PKI as used in modern operating systems is that the consequences to the OS of altering information in the certificate store is not always clear to even a technical user.
