Hi,

I was curious to find out if any of the janet communities has taken the plunge iin to ELN's.

Due to bio security and we are very keen move to a lab note book system, where teh device belong to the laboratory they are in, and users are able to sign in to any device and pick up working from where they left of as well as it being there method for communicating (lync client).

I was wondering if any other members have gone down this road and if they have any advice.

We so far have looked at two types of solution.

1. An purpose built ELN software and hardware solution. the benefits seem to be the back-end software to tie in with lab usage, how ever they are locked down and rather expensive.

2. using generic Android/IPAD tablets with a sharepoint / onenote back end. Much cheaper to purchase, but require a lot of in house development skills.

If any one has experience with this we would be very grateful to hear you thoughts before we jump in head first.

Thank you
Aaron
