This online event will be of particular interest to Network Managers and Directors of Networking Services at Janet connected institutions - HE, FE, Research and Local Authorities managing schools' connections - who want to find out how the changes to Janet will affect them and their users.

This course will benefit staff (and their managers) whose jobs require them to have privileged access to shared networks, computers and applications: for example system and network administrators and those responsible for the administration or content of databases. Familiarity with operations requiring enhanced privileges and prior knowledge of the organisation’s own published privacy policies would also be useful.

This course would be of benefit to anyone from organisations connected to Janet who wishes to gain a better understanding of the technical aspects of networking. This course requires no previous experience or knowledge in networks, the course is therefore suitable for staff from a non-technical background.

This course will be relevant to those tasked with supporting an eduroamUK service within their organisation. This might include support staff wanting to learn more about user equipment and secure wireless configuration and service managers examining what their support staff need to know. Delegates should have an understanding of networking, wireless technology and authentication. Knowledge of how their organisation stores user credentials would be of benefit.
